Case Study Writing
Client success stories turned into persuasive B2B case studies — structured around problem, solution, and measurable results.
Who it’s for
A good fit if…
- B2B companies with strong client results that haven't been turned into proof yet.
- Sales and marketing teams that need case studies built for decks and outbound, not just a blog post nobody reads.
- Founders who know their best clients would say yes to an interview but haven't had time to coordinate one.
What you get
Deliverables
- A case study structured around challenge, solution, and measurable results.
- Interview-based narrative writing if you provide access to the client or internal stakeholder.
- A pull-quote and headline-stat selection for use in sales decks or landing pages.
- One revision round to align tone and verify outcome figures with your team.
What is case study writing?
Case study writing is turning a successful client project into a story that helps future clients decide to work with you. A good B2B case study follows the client's journey: the situation they were in, the specific problem, what was done and why, the result, and who else this approach would suit. It's proof in a form buyers can read, believe and forward to colleagues who need convincing too.
Who is case study writing for?
- Agencies, consultancies and freelancers with happy clients but no written proof
- SaaS and B2B companies supporting a sales team
- Businesses whose website says "trusted by leading brands" but shows no details
- Teams that have testimonials but need fuller stories for sales conversations
Why case studies outperform testimonials
A testimonial says the client was happy. A case study shows why. Buyers want to know whether someone with their problem got a believable result, and what working with you actually involved. A specific story answers those questions; a one-line quote can't.
How I write a case study
1. Gather the material
A short briefing with you, your project notes and, ideally, a 30-minute interview with your client. The interview is where the best material comes from, especially the client's own description of the problem and what changed.
2. Find the story
Every project has one angle that will matter most to future buyers. I look for it before writing anything.
3. Structure for skimming
A summary box at the top (client, challenge, solution, result), then the full story for readers who want detail.
4. Let the client speak
Direct quotes about what they were worried about before, and what changed after, carry more weight than anything you say about yourself.
Example headline (illustrative). Weak: "Client Success Story: Acme Ltd." Stronger: "How a Manchester delivery firm tripled online bookings in eight weeks."
Interview questions I use
- What was happening before you looked for help?
- What had you already tried?
- What nearly stopped you from working with us?
- When did you first notice things changing?
- What would you tell someone in your old situation?
What if there are no impressive numbers?
Many great projects don't produce a headline percentage, or the client won't share revenue. That's fine. Observable change works well: the sales team now uses the new deck on every call, support questions dropped, a page that used to embarrass the team is now the one they send first. Scope and speed are proof too. What I never do is invent or round up figures to make the story bigger.
Common case study problems I fix
- The vendor as the hero instead of the client
- Results buried at the end, or missing entirely
- Vague claims like "significant improvement" with nothing behind them
- No mention of the client's original doubts
- One long block of text with no summary for busy readers
How much does case study writing cost?
Case study writing starts from $449. Price depends on whether an interview is included, the length and the number of formats you need. You get a fixed quote before any work starts.

FAQ
Questions about Case Study Writing
Further reading
Do you interview our client for the case study?
Yes, if you can arrange it. A 30-minute call with the client usually produces the best quotes and details. If an interview isn't possible, I can work from your project notes and results.
What if the client won't share numbers?
Case studies can still work well without hard numbers. I use observable changes, before-and-after examples, scope and speed, and the client's own words about what changed.
Can a case study be anonymous?
Yes. An anonymised case study, such as 'a UK fintech company', can still be convincing if it includes specific details about the problem and the work.
What formats do you deliver?
A web page version, plus optional one-page PDF, slide and LinkedIn post versions, so your sales team can use the story in different places.
Who approves the final case study?
You do, and your client should approve it before publishing. I'll prepare a version for client sign-off.
