What is AI content editing?
AI content editing is turning drafts written with tools like ChatGPT or Claude into content that's accurate, specific and sounds like your brand. It goes well beyond fixing grammar. A proper edit checks every fact, cuts the generic filler AI tools produce, adds the examples and judgement only someone with real experience can offer, and restructures the piece so it answers the reader's question clearly.
Who is AI content editing for?
- Marketing teams producing content with AI and finding it reads as generic
- Agencies that need AI-assisted drafts brought up to client standard
- Founders who use AI to draft blog posts but don't have time to edit properly
- Businesses whose AI-written articles aren't ranking or converting
Why do AI drafts need editing?
AI drafts are rarely wrong in an obvious way. They're average. They repeat what's already been published, in a predictable rhythm, with confident claims and no real opinion. Readers notice, and so does Google, which rewards content that shows experience and helps the reader rather than content that simply exists.
The common signs:
- An opening that restates the topic without saying anything new
- Every paragraph ending with a tidy summary sentence
- Lists of three adjectives and familiar phrases like "crucial" or "landscape"
- Claims with no example, number or source behind them
- No recommendation, so the reader never learns what you'd actually do
How I edit AI content
- Check the draft answers the real search. If it misses the reader's intent, I restructure before editing sentences.
- Fact-check everything. Names, statistics, product features, prices and dates. Unverifiable claims are removed or flagged.
- Cut the filler. The warm-up opening, repeated points and stock phrases go first.
- Add expertise. Specific examples, before-and-after rewrites, opinions and practical steps, using what you know about your field.
- Match your voice. Rhythm, vocabulary and tone adjusted so it sounds like your brand.
- Protect SEO. Keyword placement, question headings, internal links and an FAQ section.
Before (illustrative): "In today's digital landscape, a strong online presence is crucial for business success." After: "If a potential client can't tell what you do within five seconds of landing on your site, they leave. Here's how to fix that."
What do you receive?
An edited version ready to publish, tracked changes or a summary of the main edits so you can see what changed, a list of any facts I couldn't verify, and notes on anything that needs your input, such as a real client example or a figure only you know.
How long does it take to edit an AI article?
A thorough edit of a 1,500-word AI draft usually takes about as long as writing a solid first draft would, because the value comes from the expertise, examples and fact-checking added. That's why I'm upfront about scope: some drafts only need tightening; others need rebuilding.
Common problems I fix
- Factual errors and made-up statistics presented confidently
- Articles that answer a slightly different question from the one searched
- Generic examples that could apply to any business
- A voice that changes from one article to the next
- Weak endings that just repeat the article
How much does AI content editing cost?
AI content editing starts from $79 per piece. Price depends on length and how much work the draft needs, from a light polish to a substantial rewrite. You get a fixed quote after I've seen a sample draft.

Further reading
Will edited AI content pass AI detectors?
I edit for readers, not detectors. AI detectors are unreliable and flag human writing too. The goal is content that's accurate, specific and genuinely useful, which is what Google and readers reward.
Do you fact-check AI drafts?
Yes. AI tools state wrong facts confidently. I check names, numbers, dates, product details and claims, and flag or remove anything I can't verify.
Will editing hurt my SEO?
No. I keep the primary keyword in the title, opening and headings, keep headings that match real searches, and often improve SEO by adding direct answers and FAQs.
How much do you change in a draft?
As much as it needs. Some drafts need tightening and fact-checking; others need restructuring and new examples. I'll tell you which after reading a sample.
Can you edit content in bulk?
Yes. For larger volumes I agree a style guide with you first, so every edited piece is consistent.
